Save Mattituck Inlet is proud to partner with North Fork Environmental Council (NFEC) in providing real-time, preliminary results on dissolved oxygen in Mattituck Inlet. NFEC is participating in the Unified Water Study, launched and organized by Save the Sound.

The Unified Water Study: Long Island Sound Embayment Research (UWS) more info here is a groundbreaking water quality monitoring protocol in which groups around Long Island Sound can collect comparable data on the ecological health of our bays and harbors.

Once NFEC's team has collected the dissolved oxygen samples, SMI will provide the preliminary data in real time here on our website and on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

When dissolved oxygen levels in our waterways drop, marine life can suffer and/or die.
